Gumbo Magazine is a biannual print publication by Gumbo Media, giving life to 176 pages of poetry, essays, short stories, art, comics, and photos from 80 of the world’s most talented emerging Black creatives. Gumbo Magazine is a tactile exploration and archive of the expansiveness of Black life.

Released February 17th, 2020, Issue 001: Black is described as “a love letter to Black life.” The issue celebrates the many corners and intersections of the Black experience, explore the questions that shape Black identity, and highlighting the histories and discourses left unspoken. Gumbo Magazine carries the aesthetic and weight of a coffee-table book—an artistic collectors-item with heavy matte paper, a hard cover, and a “perfect spine” around which households, businesses, and community spaces can gather.

Based in the United States (Chicago), Gumbo Magazine ships both nationally and internationally. Domestic shipping prices vary and will be calculated upon check-out based on location. All international shipping is priced at a fixed rate of $26 USD. Times for international shipping will vary greatly based on location and time of order. All orders will be shipped out within 2 business days and delivered within 5 business days of being shipped out (per shipping costs).
